Early Life

Bryson DeChambeau was born on September 16, 1993, in Modesto, California. He was born to parents Janet Louise Druffel and John Howard Aldrich DeChambeau. When he was seven, he moved along with his parents to Clovis, east of Fresno.

Regarding his education, he studied at Clovis East High School where he earned a victory at the California State Junior Championship. Bryson graduated from Clovis in 2012 and received a scholarship to study at Southern Methodist University.

Bryson showed his tremendous form playing for the University’s team, and was able to win the NCAA individual championship in June 2015. Following that, he grabbed the U. S. Amateur title in August 2015 by defeating Derek Bard.

As an amateur, he played his first PGA Tour game at the FedEx St. Jude Classic. There, he finished in 45th place, and then he played his first major championship at the U. S. Open, where he missed the cut by 4 strokes.

DeChambeau made the decision to forgo his senior season to attend other events before starting playing as a professional golfer. In November, he competed at the 2015 Australian Masters, and there he finished as a runner with two other players, Andrew Evans and John Senden. Then he competed in the Master’s in 2016, and there he finished for 21st place.

He turned professional in mid-April 2016 and was signed for a long-term with Cobra-Puma Golf. Bryson made his pro debut at the RBC Heritage, where he tied for fourth and earned the prize amount of over $259,000.

Bryson was also qualified for the U. S. Open and earned over $152,000. Despite getting a good start, he was not able to qualify for a 2017 PGA Tour card. However, he made it through to the Web.com Tour Finals. He registered his first PGA Tour victory on July 16, 2017, by winning the John Deere Classic over Patrick Rodgers. Then, he won the Memorial Tournament on June 3, 2018, in a sudden-death playoff over An Byeong-hun and Kyle Stanley.

Bryson registered a win at The Northern Trust on August 26, 2018, and then made a new record for the tournament with a score of 266. After a week, he got the victory at the Dell Technologies Championship. He finished 19th out of 30 participants at the Tour Championship due to which he reached 3rd place in the FedEx Cup and won $2,000,000. In November 2018, he got the victory at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open and with the win, he reached No. 5 in the Official World Golf Ranking.

DeChambeau got a good start in 2021 as he won the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March 2021. Then in August 2021, he competed at the BMW Championship in Owings Mills, where he shot 27 under par. Despite being in excellent form, he lost to Patrick Cantlay in a sudden-death playoff. Then he went to play on the U. S. team in the 2021 Ryder Cup in September 2021.

In the 43rd Ryder Cup matches, the U. S. team became victorious with a score of 19-9. On the other hand, his individual score in Sunday single matches over Sergio Garcia was 2-0-1.
