Early life

Jelly Roll was born on the 4th of December, 1986 in Antioch, Tennessee. His father’s name is Buddy DeFord who died on March 21, 2019. During the 60s and 70s, his dad was the only guy who sold meat to the black part of town. Jelly shared that his father taught him to treat people equally and to stand against racism. He has two brothers, Roger and Scott, and a sister, Shelby.

Following the success of the song, the hip-hop group, SNO released the album, Year Round in April 2011.

Jelly was a part of the hip group, SNO and along with the group, he released the single “Come Here, White Girls”. After some time, the song was named one of the 10 Most Memorable White Rapper Collaborations by hip-hop magazine, XXL. Following then, he dropped many mixtapes including the Therapeutic Music series and the Gamblin’ on a Whiteboy series.
