Defense Merging Feature Coming in Clash of Clans Town Hall 16 Update

With Clash of Clans’ latest trailer hinting that the long-awaited TH16 will be released in the upcoming December update, players continue to wait for an official announcement to confirm and reveal more information about Town Hall 16. The TH16 trailer was released on December 6 on the game’s website and social media handles, leaking what it will look like. However, many are wondering what other new features the aforementioned December patch brings. 

Clash of Clans content creators like Judo Sloth have provided details and discussed the updated trailer extensively on his YouTube channel. Additionally, Supercell recently rolled out a new feature called Defense Merging in the December patch for those with TH16.

Defense merging will be one of the new features coming to Clash of Clans TH16 update

Instead of introducing new defense buildings, the developers will provide a new defense merging feature in the TH16 update. After unlocking Town Hall 16, the in-game store will offer the ability to merge max Archer Towers and Cannons to produce Multi-Archer Towers and Ricochet Cannons. The functions of these new defensive buildings are discussed below:

Multi-Archer Towers: A combination of the two largest Archer Towers will hit three different targets simultaneously. Furthermore, it is designed to complement the nature-themed look of the new TH16. Therefore, its color scheme is red and yellow.

Ricochet Cannon: This powerful defensive structure has more than twice the health and damage output of a regular level 21 cannon. What’s more, its projectiles don’t stop after hitting their target; they ricochet off the first target and hit the second.

Note that Clash of Clans developers have yet to reveal the cost of the defense merging ability. More information about this feature can be revealed in an upcoming sneak peek.

What other defense features could the upcoming TH16 update bring to Clash of Clans?

The following are the new maximum upgrade levels for defensive buildings brought by the TH16 update:

Rockets: The level 14 upgrade of these air defense systems costs 20.5 million gold coins and takes 15 days to complete.

X-Bow: X-Bow’s level 11 upgrade requires 21 million gold coins and takes 15 days to complete.

Wizard Tower: A level 16 upgrade of the Wizard Tower requires 20.2 million gold coins and takes 14 days and 12 hours to complete.

Mortar: The level 16 upgrade of the mortar requires 19.5 million gold coins and takes 14 days and 12 hours to complete.

Bomb Tower: The 11th-level upgrade of the Bomb Tower requires 20.8 million gold coins and takes 14 days and 12 hours to complete.
