Ace Hood known by his real name as Antoine Franklin McCollister is an American rapper. He is known for his highest-charting songs “Bugatti” and “Hustle Hard”. Ace has released four studio albums to date, the most successful being “Blood, Sweat & Tears”, and “Trials & Tribulations”.

Ace Hood was born on May 11, 1988, in Port St Lucie, Florida, United States. He was raised by his mother alongside his cousin, Ty Barton Jr. Ace received high school graduation from Deerfield Beach High School. He was earlier more interested in football, however, he had to quit football after suffering an injury in the 10th grade.

Hood then decided to become a rapper, which led him to team up with a local group, Dollaz & Dealz. The group dropped a song titled “M. O. E.” in 2006. Ace didn’t bound himself only in the local group, he opened up himself in other talent shows organized around town. He also showed his rapping skill in open mic events. Hood was signed by DJ Khaled onto his label, We the Best Music Group, after Ace impressed him with his freestyle on Khaled’s song ‘I’m So Hood”.

Ace came up with his first album “Gutta” in 2008, which includes hit songs like “Cash Flow” and “Ride”. He continued to shine as a rap artist after he sang Khalid’s song “Out Here Grindin”, which features other known artists such as Akon, Plies, Trick Daddy, Lil Boosie, and Rick Ross. The song also peaked at the 38th spot on the Billboard Hot 100. In June 2009, he dropped his second album “Ruthless”, and the album turned out to be a big hit, which peaked at 23rd spot on the Billboard 200.

Hood was signed into Cash Money Records in 2012, where he recorded his fourth studio album. During that time, he also made guest appearances on tracks with other known recording artists like Jadakiss, Talib Kweli, Brisco, and The Drill.

On January 10, 2013, he dropped his mixtape titled “Starvation 2”, and after a few days, on January 16, 2013, he announced his fourth studio album “Trials & Tribulations”. The lead song from the album “Bugatti” was released, and it became a massive hit, which reached Number 33 on the Hot 100.

On January 17, 2014, he came up with his mixtape “Starvation 3”, featuring rappers from We The Best label, Vado, Mavado, Betty Wright, and Kevin Cossom. Hood became a part of the fourth installment of the popular reality series “Love & Hip Hop: Miami” in 2021.

Ace Hood is married to his longtime girlfriend, Shelah Marie. Hood and Shelah turned into a married couple on February 7, 2020. Before that, he was in a relationship with Shanice Tyria Sarratt, with whom, he had twin girls named Sailor Blu McCollister and Lyric.

Though he lost one of his daughters, Lyric due to health complications, sources have claimed that he is also parenting a son, whose name is not known yet.
