Eddie Deezen was born on the 6th of March, 1957 in Cumberland, Maryland. He was born to parents, Robert and Irma Deezen. Eddie was a class clown in his youth days and wanted to be a stand-up comedian. Following high school graduation, he moved to Hollywood.

Eddie started performing as a stand-up comedian at The Comedy Store. In the mid-1970s, he made an appearance on an episode of the talent contest, The Gong Show. However, he only received a gong from singer, Paul Williams. Eddie eventually decided to stop the stand-up act after he had difficulty memorizing his routine. Thereafter, he started focusing on acting.

Deezen got his first notable role in the 1977 movie, Grease. He portrayed the character of a nerdy student, Eugene Felsnic in the movie. After that, he got a small role in a low-budget independent movie, Laserblast. The movie made Eddie’s screen debut and was released in March 1978. After that, he was cast in many high-profile comedy movies playing nerdy characters. During that time, he was in high demand and had to turn down several movie offers.

Eddie had several high-profile studio releases throughout the early 1980s. His most appreciable movie roles came in “Disney’s Midnight Madness”, “Zapped!”, “WarGames” and “Grease 2”. He also had a major role as superintendent Eddie in NBC’s first season of Punky Brewster in 1984. In the remainder of the 1980s, he appeared in live-action movies such as Surf II: The End of the Trilogy. Thereafter, he appeared mostly in short movies throughout the 2010s.

Deezen transitioned into voice acting in the mid-1980s. As a voice actor, he didn’t need to memorize dialogue and was getting better pay. In 1985, he provided the voice for the character, Donnie Dodo in the musical road comedy movie “Sesame Street Presents: Follow That Bird”. Eddie found full-time voice work on the small screen in the mid-1990s playing recurring roles in the animated series “What’s New Scooby-Doo?”, “Kim Possible” and “Grimmy”.

Eddie’s most popular voice character came on Cartoon Network’s series “Dexter’s Laboratory”. In the series, he gave his voice to the Mandark, who is the nemesis of the eponymous Dexter. Deezen worked in the Cartoon series from 1996 to 2003. In addition, he provided the voice for the TV special “Dexter’s Laboratory: Ego Trip” and for the video games “Fusion Fall” and “Cartoon Network Racing”.

Eddie Deezen is married to Linda George. The popular voice actor has been arrested several times. He was arrested in September 2021 for assaulting a police officer. Eddie was taken into custody after he refused to leave a restaurant after being asked by the restaurant’s staff as he was causing a disturbance. He even threw plates, food, and bowls that hit one of the deputies.

Deezen was arrested again on April 8, 2022, after he unlawfully tried to enter a nursing facility. After he was caught, he was charged with 4-degree burglary, 2 counts of trespassing, and 1 count of disturbing the peace. Eddie was proved mentally unfit for the second trial in August 2022. That means, he must remain in the custody of the Maryland Department of Health.
