Greg Penner was born on December 18 in the year 1969 in the United States. He was born to Clifford and Joyce Penner, who were sex therapists. Greg studied International economics at Georgetown University. Then, he attended Stanford University and earned an MBA degree.

After completing his University education, Greg started working at the early-stage venture capital fund, Peninsula Capital as a General partner. He has previous work experience at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in the corporate finance department. He served in the company during the 1990s.
