Early life

JJ Da Boss was born Jonathan Day on the 10th of August, 1973 in Memphis, Tennessee. He was the only kid of his parents, who were construction workers. Boss spent his childhood days in a small city, Joiner in Mississippi County, Arkansas. JJ’s father and uncle used to compete in street races. His mom used to carry him and take him to watch his dad and uncle compete in races.

JJ completed his high school graduation from the River Crest School. He was passionate about high-performing cars from a young age. JJ even had his own collection of several exotic racing cars. He was 10 when he started street racing. His family business helped him in pursuing a racing career. When he was young, he would never miss competing in local races with his car “66, Chevrolet II Nova”.

In his early days, Boss used to earn money by repairing and selling cars to finance the car races he loved. JJ earned the title, Off Witcha Head after he won the race by speeding off on 2 instead of 3 during the countdown. Boss has won multiple races and has earned a huge amount and a good reputation by competing in street car racing.

Boss was known to people after he starred in the Discovery Channel’s series “Street Outlaws” in 2016. He was able to get a much-needed breakthrough from the show. After 2 years in January 2018, he appeared in another reality show called “Street Outlaws: Memphis”. The series was a spin-off of the Street Outlaws. The fourth season of Street Outlaws: Memphis was released on March 23, 2020, on Discovery with a special 2-hour premiere. The last episode of the fourth season ended on August 3, 2020.

The fourteen Season of Street Outlaws premiered on January 15, 2022. The 13 episodes series ended on May 9, 2022. It is Discovery’s long-running racing reality series that revolves around JJ Da Boss and his daring team of adventurous racers. When the show dropped the first time on Discovery, it received a tremendous response due to which the show was renewed multiple times.

JJ Da Boss has been the lead cast of Street Outlaws: Memphis, where he is also the leader of the Memphis racing family. Along with him, his wife, Tricia Day also joins him. Boss and Tricia drive a 66 Chevy Nova called Heifer. In addition to a real-life couple, his son, Doughboy, and his close friend, Kenneth Gulley also stars in the show.

JJ Da Boss is married to Tricia Day. He began dating her in 2008. The pair grew up in the same small town outside Memphis, Tennessee. His wife, Tricia has appeared alongside him on Street Outlaws for some years now.

In early 2022, JJ and Tricia got into a serious accident due to which they had several injuries. According to several news outlets, JJ is a father of 11 children and 5 grandchildren. Out of his 11 kids, he shares four kids with his current wife, Tricia.
