Juancho Hernangomez was born on September 28 in the year 1995 in Madrid, Spain. He was born to Guillermo Hernangomez Heredero and Margarita Geuer. Juancho has two siblings named Willy and Andrea. Both of his parents have played basketball on their national teams. Likewise, his brother and sister are also professional basketball players, who play for the team New Orleans Pelicans and Estudiantes.

Juancho followed the footsteps of his parents and decided to become a basketball player. He played basketball for his school team until 2007. Then, he played for the club, CB Las Rozas for a couple of years. Afterward, he became a member of the Spanish basketball team, Real Madrid. After some time, he moved to Club Baloncesto Majadahonda and played in the team for a few years.
