Juancho Hernangomez was born on September 28 in the year 1995 in Madrid, Spain. He was born to Guillermo Hernangomez Heredero and Margarita Geuer. Juancho has two siblings named Willy and Andrea. Juancho followed the footsteps of his parents and decided to become a basketball player. He played basketball for his school team until 2007. Hernangomez turned professional in 2012 after signing a contract with CB Estudiantes. He played in the second team until 2014, after which he was included in the main team. He was included in the list of the 2016 NBA draft in April 2016.

Juancho was eventually picked by the Denver Nuggets and signed a contract on August 9, 2016. Then, he was assigned on to play in the NBA Development League where he played in the team, Sioux Falls Skyforce.

Juancho scored a season-high 27 points in February 2017 against the Golden State Warriors. Likewise, he hit 6 three-points and helped Nuggets tie an NBA record with twenty-four 3-pointers.
