Early life

Max Homa was born in Burbank, California, on November 9, 1990. He studied at Valencia High School and received his graduate degree in 2009. While in high school, he was the 2009 Foothill League MVP and the four-time first-team All-Foothill League selection.

Homa then earned a scholarship to study at the University of California, Berkley. He continued to play college golf at the University and holds a degree in Consumer Behavior. As a junior golfer, he was into the second-team All-Pac-12 and third-team PING Division I All-American. From 2012 to 2013, he started playing as a senior.
