After some time, she flew to Los Angeles to work in the recording industry with producers and other artists. Nija would travel between New York City and Los Angeles twice a week to work on music and continue her study at the same time.

However, she left Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music after signing a publishing deal with the music publishing company, Universal Music Publishing Group.
