Ramit Sethi is a self-proclaimed personal finance expert from California. He is the founder of GrowthLab.com and the owner of PBworks. Sethi is the author of the 2009 New York Times Bestselling book, I Will Teach You to Be Rich. The Netflix series based on the book premiered on April 18, 2023.

Ramit Sethi was born in California, United States on June 30, 1982. He was born to Prab and Neelam Sethi. His parents are originally from India. Ramit’s dad came to the United States for his study in the 1970s. After his parents married, they settled in the U. S. He has a younger brother named Maneesh Sethi.

Regarding his education, he studied at Bella Vista High School and later attended Stanford University. He graduated from Stanford with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2004. Sethi continued his Master’s degree in Sociology at Stanford and completed it in 2005.

Ramit Sethi was passionate about technology and psychology since he was in school. After moving to college, he decided to pursue the same subjects. However, he could not pay the hefty fees of the universities like Sanford.

Sethi started doing extensive research and was able to apply to more than 60 scholarships quickly. However, he lost a significant amount of his first scholarship check in the stock market. Then, he realized that he has to manage his finance.

Ramit then interned at Seth Godin Enterprises while studying at Stanford. In 2004, he joined AuctionDrop and began working as a Viral Marketing Architect. The following year, he started working as a consultant at Storm Ventures. In July 2005, he became a consultant at Omidyar Network.

Sethi also dedicated his time at Stanford Persuasive Technology as a Director of Special Projects from 2001 to 2006. He co-founded a commercial wiki website, PBworks in July 2005. At the same time, he also worked as the VP of Marketing of the organization till January 2009.

Ramit started his own website called I Will Teach You How to Get Rich while pursuing a degree at Stanford. Initially, he targeted the students who were trying to manage their finances better. The website started gaining traction gradually and eventually gets more than 1 million readers in a single month.

In 2009, Sethi published his best-selling book titled I Will Teach You to Be Rich. Previously, in 2007, he co-authored the book titled Recruit or Die. Along with that, he also authored the book, Your Move: The Underdog’s Guide to Building Your Business in 2017.

Ramit published his new book; I Will Teach You to Be Rich: The Journal in 2022. The New York Times Best Selling author has recently been featured on the Netflix series, I Will Teach You to Be Rich. The Netflix series features the self-proclaimed financial expert on a six-week journey advising people who are struggling to manage their finances.

Sethi has a different approach where he encourages people to spend extravagantly on the things people love and cut costs mercilessly on the things people don’t love. Ramit Sethi is married to Cassandra Alicia Campa. The two married in a Sikh traditional ceremony in Lake Tahoe, California on July 28, 2018. His wife, Cassandra is originally from Mexico. Her parents own an automobile restoration company, Campa’s Custon Painting.

While Cassandra is the founder of The NLW Style System. She has also served in the corporate side of the fashion industry for a brief time in London.
