Early life

Carson Kressley was born on November 11, 1969, in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He used to compete in equestrian events from a young age as his family was involved in the ponies raising business. He was on a team of the U. S. World Cup Saddle Seat in 1999, who lifted a world championship title in 2009. 

Kressley studied at Northwestern Lehigh High School. He graduated from high school in 1987, and then attended Gettysburg College. He received a bachelor’s degree from the college in 1991.

Carson took his first step in the TV industry in 1994, where he served as an independent stylist for the fashion designer, Ralph Lauren. He served for Lauren until 2002 and during his time with him, he gained work experience working in several corporate advertising and menswear brands. He was introduced as the fashion savant first time in 2003 on Bravo’s reality show “Queer Eye”. 

Kressley has made frequent appearances on the morning TV program “Good Morning America”. Carson featured as a judge in the beauty pageant, Miss Universe in 2005. Following that in 2006, he became a part of the Miss Universe pageant again as a commentator. Kressley received early notice after he started hosting the new Lifetime makeover show “How to Look Good Naked”, which premiered on January 4, 2008. 

The TV show unexpectedly received massive views and drew record numbers for Lifetime. In fact, the debut episode of the show was recorded as the highest-rated premiere of Lifetime in three demographics; adults 18-49, adults 18-34, and women 18-34. Following that, he made an appearance as the Master of Ceremonies on the annual music event, True Colors Tour 2008.

Carson came up with the new show called “Carson Nation” on the Oprah Winfrey Network in 2011. That same year, he appeared as one of the contestants on the thirteen seasons of Dancing with the Stars.
