Demetress Bell was born in Summerfield, Louisiana on May 3, 1984. He was born to Gloria Bell and Karl Malone. His father, Malone is a former NBA star who is considered one of the greatest power forwards in the history of the NBA. Bell’s mom was 13 years old when she became pregnant and his dad was 20.

In a 2008’s story published by The Buffalo News, it was revealed that Bell didn’t know who his father was until he graduated from high school. He was 18 when he spoke to Malone on one occasion.
