Larry June was influenced to become a rapper by looking at his father who used to rap. In his initial days, he used to distribute CDs with his music to schools located in his area. He eventually got a breakthrough after he sold his music to the Rasputin Music store in Berkeley.

As a teenager, he worked on MySpace networking with music artists such as G-Eazy in 2006. Later, he found instrumentals from producers like Cardo and both collaborated on many songs. In 2010, he dropped his first body of work entitled Cali Grown.

Larry released a mixtape titled Route 80 with TM88 in 2014. Following then, he was signed to Warner Records where he received a $20,000 advance for an exchange of two EPs with the option for more records. However, he stopped recording music for two years after he failed to show interest in his work.

June instead made a tour around the United States opening for famous rappers, Post Malone and Smokepurpp. In 2016, he released numerous tracks including the full-length mixtape titled Sock It to Me. Larry created an account with Distrokid after being released by Warner Records. Along with that, he also released the projects titled You’re Doing Good, Very Peaceful, and Sock It to Me, Pt. 2.

Larry eventually earned more profit from his music streams as an independent artist. Later, he released the EPs, Larry and Orange Season. Both EPs were produced by Spanish producer-DJs duo, Cookin’ Soul. In 2016, he toured with Cousin Stizz and was also featured in his song, Down Like That.

June continued working on his songs during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. In fact, he recorded his songs at his home studio and came up with six final projects. Larry also launched a boba shop named the Honeybear Boba in San Francisco in early 2021.

Larry dropped his other project titled Orange Print in June 2021. The project was his first to be distributed through the record label, Empire Distribution after he stopped releasing his songs and projects independently through DistroKid.
