In 2013, she and her husband opened the restaurant, Shooters Grill. The pair was also the owner of Smokehouse 1776 restaurant, and Putters restaurant. Lauren confronted Beto ‘Rourke in the 2020 Democratic presidential primary in September 2019.

She announced her candidacy for Colorado’s 3rd congressional district of U. S. House of Representatives in December 2019. She won the Republican nomination receiving 54.6% of the vote on June 30, 2020. With the victory, she became the first primary challenger to defeat U. S. Representative in Colorado in 48 years.

Boebert focused her 2020 general campaign on gun rights, energy, and the constitution. She remained as one of 14 House Republicans who voted against a measure condemning the Myanmar coup d’etat. She has been lately in the news for describing Muslim Democratic Representative, Ilhan Omar as a terrorist. After her video went viral, some of the Democratic Congress members have come forward and made a demand of removing her from committee assignments.
