In 1977, he received high school graduation from Pinedale High School. He earned a B. S. degree from Creighton University in 1981, and a D.D.S. from the Boyne School of Dentistry in 1985.

Paul was one of the Republican members of Congress who requested to appoint a Special Counsel to conduct an irregularities investigation in the 2020 election. He and Andy Biggs were even featured in a video produced by the Arizona Republican Party, where they claimed the widespread voter fraud in the election.

Paul further put a point claiming the voting machines in Arizona were faulty, and he claimed that Wisconsin paused counting votes intentionally to dump 100,000 votes into the count for Biden. Paul voted in line 86.1% of the time with the president’s state position during Donald Trump’s presidency and voted 5.1% of the time in line during Joe Biden’s presidency.

Paul has long suffered from arthritis, and he had two compressed vertebrae in his back due to which, he had to go through surgery. Paul has worked for a long time as a dentist, and he also played rugby, which he claimed was the root cause of suffering from compressed vertebrae in the back.

In November 2021, he released a violent cartoon on Twitter where he was depicted killing Democratic Representative, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez with a sword, and attacking President Joe Biden.
