Sahith Theegala was born in Orange, California on December 4, 1997. He was born to Muralidhar and Karuna theegala. His father had reportedly moved to the United States for a postgraduate school in 1987. There, he met his mother, Karuna, and later both got married.

Theeala has a younger brother, Sahan Theegala, a freshman at Seton Hall in New Jersey. Regarding his education, he studied at Pepperdine University in California and graduated in sports administration in 2020.

Sahith Theegala actively played golf while attending Pepperdine University. He was also a three-time NCAA-All-American at the University. Subsequently, in his final year, he won the Australian Master of the Amateurs and two amateur titles the Southwestern Invitation and the Alister MacKenzie Invitational.

However, Theegala could not compete in enough golf games in the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At the end of the season, his University team ranked first in the United States. That same year, he won three awards, the Ben Hogan, the Haskins, and the Jack Niklaus Awards. He also became the fifth person ever to get all three awards in the same year.

Sahith played his debut professional golf game at the Outlaw Tour’s Lone Tree Classic in June 2020. He showed good form in the tournament and finished tied for third place. Later, he competed on the PGA Tour at the 2020 Safeway Open. After that, he participated in his first Korn Ferry Tour event where he finished T-19.

In 2021, he competed at the Chitimacha Lousiana Open. Following that, he played at MGM Resorts Championship and finished T-9. In 2020-21, he played at a few PGA Tour events on sponsors’ exemptions. After that, he played as a non-member at the Korn Ferry Tour Finals and was able to receive enough points in the tournament.

Then, he competed at Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship, finishing T-4. Thereafter, he competed at Korn Ferry Tour Championship and finished sixth. Theelaga eventually secured his PGA Tour card for the 2021-22 season after finishing top 10 finishes in the Korn Ferry Tour Finals.

In October 2021, he competed at the Sanderson Farms Championship and earned his first top finish on the PGA Tour. He continued his best form at the WM Phoenix Open and finished third in the event. In March 2022, he participated in the Valspar Championship and finished seventh there. Thereafter, he tied for second place in the Travelers Championship in June 2022.

Sahith finished in the top 30 at the end of the 2021-22 season and made a place in the Tour Championship. In September 2022, he began his 2022-23 season at the Fortinet Championship. After two months, he competed at the RSM Classic and finished tied for second place.
