Theophilus was born on February 23, 1987, in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago. Not much is known about his upbringing. He later moved to New York City followed by Brooklyn. He graduated from George Westinghouse High School in 2006.

London started his musical career in 2009 with the single “Humdrum Town”. He then released his first EP in 2011 titled “Lovers Holiday”. The EP featured band TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek, Sara Quin from Tegan & Sara, Glasser, and Solange Knowles.

After that, he released his full-length debut album “Timez Are Weird These Days”. The album was released by Warner Brothers on July 9, 2011. His reputation grew further and was one of the main attractions of the Northside Festival in Brooklyn in June 2011. The same year, he also performed at the Montreal International Jazz Festival.

In 2012, he released his new single “Big Spender” at the Encore Sessions at le Baron Chinatown. A couple of years later, he released another album titled “Vibes” which was dedicated to his aunt who died at that time. He announced that the album will be produced by Kanye West.

Theophilus has also collaborated with several musicians. He was featured in Azelia Bank’s song “JFK” in 2014. He also released the song “Revenge” with Ariel Pink. In 2018, he released the song “Whiplash” with Tame Impala. They also covered the song “Only You” by Steve Monite.
