Tom Hoge was born on May 25 in the year 1989 in Statesville, North Carolina. He was born to Chuck and Rhoda Hoge. Tom grew up with two siblings named Charlie and Elli. He spent his childhood days growing up in Fargo, North Dakota.

Tom attended Texas Christian University and played college golf there. While playing college golf, he got the victory in two events. Hoge also held several amateur titles including the Minnesota and North Dakota amateur titles. Tom began his professional career soon after he received his college graduation in 2011.
