Early life & Amateur Career

Jason Kokrak was born in North Bay, Canada on the 22^nd of May in the year 1985. He has been playing golf since he was a kid. Kokrak continued to play golf while studying at JFK High School. He represented his high school and led the high school team, the Eagles as a Division III medalist in the Ohio State Championship.

Jason joined Xavier University after completing high school education, where he played college golf until he graduated in 2007. During the college year, he won the Ohio Amateur titles in two consecutive years 2006 and 2007. During his amateur career, he led all players at the Olympic Club in the 36-hole match-play qualifier with the leading score of 137. He also played in the U S. Open in 2017 after successfully clearing the regional and sectional qualifying.

In the 2010 season, he reached the final round of qualifying school and earned conditional status on the Nationwide Tour. Next year in 2011, he registered a victory at the Donald Ross Championship and St. James Plantation. Despite playing in just 3 events, he made it to second place on the eGolf Tour’s money list. Jason registered his first Nationwide Tour event victory in September 2011, where he won the Albertsons Boise Open.

Jason earned his second consecutive Nationwide Tour win on October 16, 2011, by claiming a title at the Miccosukee Championship. With the win, he reached fourth place on the Nationwide Tour money list and earned a 212 status on the PGA Tour.  On January 12, 2012, he made his debut as a member of the PGA Tour.

His first appearance on PGA Tour came at the Sony Open, where he finished in 75th place. Then, in February 2012, he earned his first top ten finish of his PGA Tour career while playing at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. His excellent game on Pebble Beach helped his team to finish at 11 places. Later in 2012, he competed in Frys.com Open, where he finished second. He moved up to 117th on the PGA Tour money list after his earnings total $440 thousand for the week.

Jason competed at the Northern Trust Open in February 2016 and opened with the rounds of 68-64, and held the 36-hold lead. It was the first time where he held a 36-hole lead, and at the end of the tournament, he tied for second. Following that, he competed at the Valspar Championship in March 2019, where he finished tied for second falling one stroke behind the winner, Paul Cassey. During the 4-event PGA Tour Florida Swing in 2019, he notched 3 top 10 finishes.

In October 2020, he registered his first PGA Tour victory at the CJ Cup at Shadow Creek. He achieved his second PGA Tour win in May 2021, where he lifted the title at the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club. He defeated Jordan Speith by 2 strokes to claim the title in the final round. Jason’s most recent victory came at the Memorial Park Municipal Golf Course, where he won the Hewlett Packard Enterprise Houston Open in November 2021.

Jason Kokrak has been married to his wife, Stephani Kokrak since November 28, 2015. Their wedding ceremony took place at Saint Gabriel Catholic Church in North Carolina.
