Allen Stone decided to pursue music seriously after his close friend, Stacio Orrico became successful in music. After turning 18, he shifted place to Spokane and there, he studied at the community college for a semester. Then, he attended Moody Bible Institute for a year. After a while, he moved to Seattle to focus on his music career.

In 2010, he self-released his debut album, Last to Speak. Then, in 2011, he released his self-titled album, Allen Stone via ATO Records. His career started taking off well after he dropped his second album. In the album, he was backed by Miles Davis’ keyboardist, Deron Johnson, and Raphael Saadiq’s rhythm. The album eventually became successful and peaked at the No. 35 spot on the R&B/Hip Hip Album charts.

In May 2015, he released his third album titled Radius via Capitol Records. He said that the album is about getting out things deep inside whether it’s love or insecurity or frustration about things that are happening today. Stone came up with a deluxe edition of Radius and re-released the album via ATO Records on March 25, 2016.

The deluxe edition included seven additional tracks. The song from the album, Perfect World was also featured in the trailer for the Netflix series, Daer White People in April 2017. The following year, he appeared on the 16th season of American Idol, where he sang duets with multiple contestants.

In 2019, he released his fourth full-length album, Building Balance, which was co-produced by English musician, Jamie Lidell. In 2022, he represented his home state of Washington in the music reality series, American Song Contest. He reached the semi-final of the series after being placed first out of eleven in the jury vote. In the end, he finished in fifth place.

Stone dropped his new song, 5 Minutes on October 4, 2022. Then, he went on a tour in Australia on November 11, 2022. His fifth album titled APART was released on November 12, 2021. Stone has also been featured on Deva Mahal’s son Turnt Up released in March 2018.

Allen Stone is married to Tara Lawson, who is originally from Melbourne. He met Lawson while on tour in Australia in 2014. After developing a connection with her, Stone requested Lawson to move to Chewelah, Washington, where they could be closer.

The couple moved to Spokane in 2017, where they found their house. They tied the knot in early 2019 in Melbourne, Australia. The pair became parents of a son named Roody Rocket on March 29, 2019. Stone also posted a photo of himself with his wife and newborn son on Instagram.

After his son came into this world, he expressed his gratitude and called his son a miracle. He also thanked his wife for bringing their song into the world.
