Parole in Place or PIP is a program for some undocumented family members of military personnel in the United States. It lets such family members apply for a green card while in the U. S. This immigration benefit is not available to civilian family members.

  • Avoids consular processing risks. If you apply for permanent residency in the U. S. through consular processing, you need to return to your home country to appear at the U. S. Consulate for an interview. But PIP helps you avoid this risk.
