Bryan Baumler was born on April 18, 1974, in Oakville, Ontario. He was born to parents, Werne and Colleen. His dad was an aircraft engineer. He learned the trade from his father. Bryan used to spend maximum time constructing his family’s cottage in his childhood summers.

Bryan also started his own handyman business when he was 14. he even did some odd jobs for his neighbors. For his study, he attended the University of Western Ontario. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Business from the University in 1996.

In 1995, he started working for an air-cargo business. He worked in an air-cargo business for eight years until 2003. Later, he started a construction company, Baeumler Quality Construction and Renovations Inc. He served as the CEO and President of the company. Then, he launched a website, Baeumler Approved in 2011. Through the website, he aids homeowners that connect with home-service companies in Canada.

Baumler continued to expand his work experience and eventually became the spokesperson of the mobile marketplace app, HeyBryan. The marketplace app connects homeowners with home-service providers.

Bryan along with his wife, Sarah purchased a defunct abandoned beachfront resort in the Bahamas in 2017. The pair renovated the abandoned resort into a new sustainable luxury resort named Caerula Mar Club. The resort was opened in December 2019. That same year, the couple undertook actions for disaster relief in the wake of Hurricane Dorian. They were lucky that their resort was not hit by the storm.

Bryan has hosted several shows on HGTV such as Disaster DIY, Cottage Edition, Disaster DIY, House of Bryan, Leave It to Bryan, Island of Bryan, and Bryan Inc. In addition to hosting, he has also served as a judge on an HGTV show titled “Canada’s Handyman Challenge”. He and his wife, Sarah has also been co-led on HGTV’s show, Bryan Inc.

In April 2019, he hosted the HGTV show, Island of Bryan. The TV show follows the Baeumler family where they renovate a neglected 50-year-old hotel in the Bahamas. The resort, where Bryan and his wife were living was located in a remote location due to which they received supplies in a week. The TV show was repackaged in June 2020 for American audiences, which was renamed “Renovation Island”.

Bryan has also made several guest appearances on many TV shows. He appeared as a judge on the Canadian TV series, Deck Wars. He also made appearances as a guest builder on HGTV’s home renovation series, Home to Win.
