Early Life

Contessa Metcalfe was born on the 4th of June, 1976 in Kansas City, Missouri. While growing up in Kansas City, she was involved in every activity including debate, cheerleading, tennis, and debutante. Metcalfe was crowned as homecoming queen in her high school. She received her undergraduate degree in psychology/pre-medicine from the Xavier University of Louisiana.

Contessa then attended the St. Louis University School of Medicine. Following her University graduation, she decided to join the Navy where she travel the world as a flight surgeon.

Contessa started her medical journey after joining the medical residency at the National Naval Medical Center and thereafter, she was appointed as a flight surgeon for the medical center. Later, she started the Chastain Integrative Medicine where she specializes in preventive, medical aesthetics, occupational, and addiction medicine. Along with that, she co-owns Haute’ Doc Nutraceuticals, which is a supplier of high-quality vitamins and supplements.

Contessa has continuously grown her strength, skills, and knowledge in the medical business over the years. Then, she established a medical concierge service, Acute Face MD. The medical service provides also provided VIP medical services to clients.

In addition, she also serves as a pharmacovigilance physician for a major pharmaceutical company. She was known to people after she appeared in Bravo’s reality series “Married to Medicine”. She joined the reality series in the fifth season in 2017. Contessa then made appearances in the following 2 seasons and became a regular cast member in Season 7. Contessa has also appeared in cross-over episodes for Married to Medicine: Los Angeles.

By getting popular with the Bravo series, she got to diversify her business further. It is known that she is also a real estate entrepreneur and owns a restaurant in Atlanta. Contessa Metcalfe is married to Dr. Walter Scott Metcalfe. She has been married to Dr. Walter for 17 years. The pair shares three kids together named Laure, London, and Laila. Just before the beginning of Season 9 of Married to Medicine which kicks off on July 11, she shared a much better diagnosis of her 17-year marriage. She shared that she and her husband have made some big strides and have gone through a lot of growing pains as people saw.

Contessa revealed that she and Dr. Walter Scott had a seven-year itch, 10-year, and 15-year itch. And they were living with the hope that the scratching will end someday. Contessa was also half in and half out with her husband which led to discussions about divorce. Her relationship with Dr. Scott became so distant at one point that she even put a sale sign outside her Atlanta home deciding it’s time to move out and move on.

However, her hubby pushed down the sale sign and agreed to participate in therapy. As they started going to therapy, they realized it was good and Dr. Scott became more aware of the things that he was only doing. The couple also spoke to professionals and realized that their parents who were divorced are also having an effect on their current relationship.
