Early Life & Amateur Career

Delonte West was born on the 26th of July, 1983 in Washington, D. C. He was raised by his parents, Dmitri West and Delphina Addison. Delonte grew up with two siblings; Dmitri West Jr. And Danielle West. He studied at the Eleanor Roosevelt High School where he was an excellent basketball player. There, he teamed up with future NBA star, Eddie Basden.

While playing for the high school team, he led them to their first state tournament appearance.
