Mauricio Umansky was born in June 1970 in Mexico. His mother, Estella Sneider is a well-known radio and TV personality in Mexico. At an early age, he was diagnosed with neutropenia. Due to that, he spent most of his youth days in and out of the hospital. He has a younger sister. When he was 6, he along with his family shifted their place to the United States.

Mauricio studied at the University of Southern California. However, he dropped out of the University to start his entrepreneurial career.

After dropping out of college, he started a successful clothing line. At 26 years of age, he sold the clothing line for a substantial profit. Afterward, he entered into the real estate business by joining a firm, Hilton & Hyland, established by his brother-in-law. He had a great start in his early real estate career as he was able to sell a $7.5 million property that was owned by his wife, Kyle Richard’s ex-husband.

Umansky established his own real estate firm, The Agency in 2011. He serves as the CEO of the real estate firm which mainly specializes in the luxury properties like Holmby Hills, Beverly Hills, Malibu, and Brentwood. Mauricio is also raising Kyle and her former husband, Guraish’s daughter, Farrah as his own. All of his daughters have been featured in The Real Housewives where they had extremely elaborated birthday parties.

Mauricio went on a trip to Aspen, Colorado with his wife and daughters for his 59th birthday. His daughters and stepdaughter also posted tributes to him on their social media accounts. Mauricio shaved his hair into a mohawk in July 2020. However, Kyle didn’t like his new hairstyle. While explaining to her, he said he gave himself a mohawk by putting the Moe into the mohawk.
