Phil Rosenthal was born on January 27 in the year 1960 in Queens, New York. His parents were originally from Germany. After World War II, his mom moved to Cuba and Manhattan. Phil grew up in New City, New York.
Rosenthal studied at the Clarkstown North High School. He actively took part in the school’s drama club and theatre. Phil received his high school graduation in 1997. Then, he joined Hofstra University and graduated in 1981.

Phil started off his career as an actor in the early 1980s. He used to work as an actor in New York City. Later, he shifted his focus to production work and then became a writer and producer. Eventually, he produced a few TV shows such as Coach and Baby Talk. He received immense popularity and success through the CBS sitcom “Everybody Loves Raymond”.
Phil created, wrote, and also produced the CBS sitcom. The show was based on the stand-up comedian, Ray Romano’s comedy material. His wife, Monica Horan who is an actress appeared as Amy McDougall-Barone in the sitcom. The sitcom ran from September 13, 1996, to May 16, 2005, spanning over 9 seasons. Rosenthal then worked on the Netflix show “Somebody Feed Phil”, which premiered on January 12, 2018. The Netflix travel documentary has aired for five seasons. The second season of the series premiered on July 6, 2018. The fourth season was released on October 30, 2020. Phil came with the fifth season on May 25, 2022. In the new season, the fans would get experience to five new scrumptious locations such as Maine, Oaxaca, Portland, Helsinki, and Madrid.
In the first four seasons, his father, Max appeared over video chat to talk with Phil. His mom, Helen also appeared for bits in the first two seasons. Unfortunately, he lost his mom in 2019. Phil came up with an idea with the title “A Joke for Max” in the series, through which he will talk to different people via zoom in each episode.
