Early life

Molly Yeh was born in Glenview, Illinois, the United States on May 22, 1989, to her parents, John Bruce Yeh and Jody. She belongs to mixed ethnicity as her dad is Chinese and her mom is Jewish. Molly grew up with an elder sister named Jenna, and a younger half-sister, Mia.

She studied at Glenbrook South High School. Likewise, she attended the youth ensemble music program, the Midwest Young Artists Conservatory where she was a member of gold medal-winning percussion ensembles, Beat 3, and The Rattan journals.

Molly started writing blogs from a young age. Following high school graduation, she shifted her place to New York City and got enrolled at the Juilliard School. While attending school, she was contributing as a writer and editorial assistant at The Juilliard Journal. Molly came out holding a Bachelor of Music degree majoring in percussion in 2011.

Molly fell in love with food while staying in New York, and in the meantime, she started sharing her recipes on her food blog. She went on to publish her first book titled “Molly on the Range: Recipes and Stories from An Unlikely Life on a Farm” in October 2016. The cookbook was able to garner the wide attention of people, and she subsequently grabbed the Judges Choice IACP Cookbook Award in the year 2017.

Following a year in June 2018, she was announced as a host of the cooking show that would be premier on Food Network. The show was named “Girl Meets Farm”, which made its debut on Food Network on June 24, 2018. On September 19, 2021, the ninth season of the cooking show was launched.

Besides appearing as a host of the cooking show on Food Network, she has starred as a co-host of a podcast titled “From the Top”, which showcased young classical musicians.
