Lisa Wu was born on 23rd January 1973 in Inglewood, California. Her father, Stanley Wu was Chinese and her mom, Victoria Brislis-Wu was a Jamaican-American. She grew up with three siblings, Sherri, Andre, and Meho. Not much detail is available regarding her education.

Lisa began her career working as a backup dancer performing for musical artists and bands. Initially, she worked as a backup dancer for the American hip hop group, Public Enemy, hip hop duo, EPMD, and rapper, Candyman. After a while, she became associated with the rap group, 9tene. However, she later left music and was involved as a writer, producer, and actor. She acted in the 2003 movie Black Bal. Lisa worked as an actress, screenwriter, and producer for many years.

Lisa became a known television personality after appearing in Bravo TV’s reality series “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”. She appeared as a main cast member for the first two seasons in 2008 and 2009. Then, for the third season, she appeared as a guest. Wu then made guest appearances on the ninth, tenth, and fourteenth seasons. After departing from RHOA, she continued to work as a producer and actress.

In 2014, she became involved as a cast member on TV One’s series “Hollywood Divas”. She appeared on the reality series until its third season ended on August 24, 2016. Over the years, she landed various roles in many movies and TV series such as Meet the Browns, Rift, and Saints and Sinners. Then, she got wed to former football linebacker, Ed Hartwell in 2005. Together, they had a son named Ed Jr. Her second husband, Ed filed for divorce in August 2022 which was finalized in October 2011.

The real reason behind her separation from Ed Hartwell has not got revealed yet. However, according to several news outlets, they separated due to financial troubles that reportedly took place in 2010. However, Lisa later confirmed through a tweet that her separation has nothing to do with money.
