Early Life

Ree Drummond’s full name is Anne Marie Drummond, and she was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma on January 6, 1969. She spent her childhood living on the grounds of the country club in the oil town of Bartlesville. Ree has two brothers and a younger sister.

She completed her high school graduation from Bartlesville High School in 1987. Following high school graduation, she left Oklahoma and moved to Los Angeles to study at the University of Southern California.

Ree completed her University graduation in 1991 majoring in gerontology. She had a plan to study law in Chicago, however, she changed her plan after meeting her husband, Ladd Drummond.

Ree posted her first food recipe after a year she launched her blog, and made a tutorial on the title “How to Cook a Steak”. The readers were able to connect well through her blog, as they find her lifestyle and country living interesting to read. Likewise, she shares step-by-step cooking instructions along with elaborate food photography on her blog.

Ree held a giveaway contest in April 2008 in the cooking section of her blog, where the readers got a chance to share their favorite recipes. Within less than 24 hours, she got a massive response with more than 5000 recipes. In July 2009, she made an announcement to launch a free online community website, TastyKitchen.com, which she started with the tagline “Favorite Recipes from Real Kitchens Everywhere!”.

Ladd and Ree together share four children. Ree has also helped her hubby, Ladd to establish a restaurant business. The pair opened a restaurant retail store, The Mercantile in late 2016, and a bed and breakfast in 2018.
