Early Life

Schoolboy Q was born in Wiesbaden, West Germany, and celebrates his birthday every year on October 26, 1986. His father, who served in the Army separated from his mom with a divorce at the time of his birth. Following separation, he and his mom stayed in Texas for a few years before settling down in South Central Los Angeles.

Schoolboy was more involved in sports in his early days. In fact, he played American football until he was 21, and has played as a cornerback receiver, tailback, and returner. He completed high school graduation from Crenshaw High School and then studied at different colleges.

Schoolboy announced his fifth studio album on December 18, 2016, which would be released in 2017. Following a year in September 2018, he announced that the album has been delayed because of the death of his frequent collaborator and friend, Mac Miller. He posted 2 More Days post on his Instagram on March 11, 2019, and on April 26, 2019, he finally dropped his fifth album titled “CrasH Talk”. The album turned out to be a big hit, which peaked at #3 on Billboard’s top 200.

Schoolboy Q has not been married to anyone yet. However, he has two daughters. He became the father of his first daughter, Joyce “Joy” Hanley on April 24, 2009, and after a decade on January 4, 2019, he became the father of his second daughter.

He has mentioned his daughter, Joy’ in many of his songs. Joy has even made an appearance in several of his music videos, including in his major-label first album “Oxymoron”, which was released on February 25, 2014.
