Early Life

Erin’s full name is Erin Jill Andrews, and she was born in Lewiston, Maine on May 4, 1978, to her parents, Steven Andrews and Paula Andrews. Her dad is a broadcast journalist, and her mom is a teacher.

Erin stayed in San Antonio, Texas until she was 5, and then her family moved to Valrico, Florida. Andrews has described herself as being more tomboy in nature as a youth as she used to spend a lot of time in sports and watching NBA games. 

Andrews received her high school graduation from Bloomingdale High School. She involved herself in a dance team while studying in high school. Erin continued her passion for dance by attending Brandon School of Dance Arts. In 1996, she joined the University of Florida and came out as a graduate in 2000 holding a BA degree in Telecommunication.

Erin had an early work experience as a freelance reporter at Fox Sports Florida in 2000. Then, for a year from 2001 to 2002, she served at the Sunshine Network working as a Tampa Bay Lighting reporter. In 2002, she started working as a studio host and reporter for the Turner South Network. In April 2004, she began her work association with ESPN. She started off her journey in ESPN as a reporter for the TV presentation NHL games “ESPN National Hockey Night”. 

Erin served as a reporter and covered live games of Scripts National Spelling Bee for ESPN and ABC from 2008 to 2010. In 2010, she participated in the 10th season of ABC’s dance reality show “Dancing with the Stars”. She and her dance partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy finished third place out of 11 couples. Erin made an announcement on June 29, 2012, that she would be leaving ESPN to begin her new journey with Fox Sports. 

Andrews started her work association with Fox by becoming the first host of Fox College Football’s studio show. Then, she served as a contributor on Fox NFL Sunday, and as a field reporter on MLB All-Star Game, the NFL Playoffs, the World Series, and Daytona 500.

On August 17, 2013, she appeared as a guest host of Fox College Saturday and Fox College Football Kickoff. She started working as a sideline reporter on NFL broadcasting during the 2014 NFL Season. Andrews began her new journey on the small screen as a co-host of Dancing with the Stars in March 2014.

Erin Andrews has been married to professional hockey player, Jarret Stoll since June 24, 2017. She was dating him since December 2012. In September 2016, she went through a bad day in her life as she was then suffering from cervical cancer. She had to go through two surgeries to be pronounced cancer-free. After being cured, she joined a hand with a women’s health diagnostics company called Hologic and together, they launched a campaign called “We Can Change This STAT”.

Erin became a hot topic in 2009 when her nude video went viral on the internet. The video was filmed in her hotel room at Nashville Marriott Internation, Radisson Hotel by Michael David Barrett. On October 2, 2009, Michael was arrested by the FBI and pleaded guilty to the charges. Later, the authorities found a second nude tape of her on Barrett’s computer. 

Though the tape was never made public, and as a punishment, Barrett was sent to 2 and half years in prison, and received 3 years of probation. He also paid $5000 in fines and $7,366 in restitution. Erin later filed a complaint against the Nashville Marriott and Michael Barrett for $75 million in October 2015. The jury later came to a decision and concluded that Barrett was 51% responsible and hotel management was 49% responsible.
