Jones completed his high school graduation from Garland High School in 2011. Likewise, he attended the University of North Texas, where he studied political science and criminal justice.

Jones was asked to join Project Veritas, where they worked together on exposing fraud allegations among vendors who were enrolling individuals in the healthcare marketplace of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. The same year, the conservative and libertarian advocacy group, FreedomWorks named him Activist of the Year. Lawrence received wide attention in April 2015 after he raised money for the Memories Pizza show to cater a gay wedding.

Through a fundraiser, he was able to raise an amount of $844,000 for the family who were planning to cater a gay wedding. The amount was used partly in paying bills for the wedding, and a part of the amount was donated to the owner’s church and charity.

In a venture of expanding his work experience, he has served as a contributor on the conservative TV show “Dana”. In February 2018, he started working for the conservative website, Campus Reform as an editor-in-chief.

Jones was promoted as a co-host and regular substitute host on Fox News in October 2019, after which, he moved to New York City. He has been a part of several controversies while serving for Fox News. In April 2019, during a Fox News segment, he wore a small bulletproof vest, for which, he was mocked online claiming that the journalists never used protective gear while routinely covering the border region.

Jones claimed in May 2018 that the ESPN personality, Jemele Hill was not the right candidate to receive a journalism award from the National Association of Black Journalists, as she was unemployed. Likewise, he blamed the Barack Obama Administration in July 2019 for a lenient plea deal that the sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein received in 2008. He incorrectly asserted and blamed Barack Obama for claiming that he was president at that time.
