Early Life

Owens was born in Stamford, Connecticut on April 29, 1989. Her parents got divorce when she was around 11 or 12, and then she and her siblings were raised by her grandparents. Candace earned her high school graduation degree from Stamford High School.

At 17 years of age, she received 3 racist death threat voicemail messages from her white male classmates. After her family came to know about the messages, they sued the Stamford Board of Education in federal court. In the end, the court settled the matter with the settlement amount of $37,500.

Candace then continued her study and joined the University of Rhode Island to pursue an undergraduate degree in journalism. However, due to an issue with her student loan, she had to drop out of the University after her junior year.

Candace started off her career working as an intern for Vogue magazine. Then, in 2012, she served at a private equity firm as an administrative assistant. By reaching 2015, she became a CEO of a marketing agency, Degree180.

In 2016, she launched a website called SocialAutospy.com, which exposed bullies on the internet. However, she received criticism for de-anonymizing internet users and violating their policies. After some time, she received support from conservatives who were involved in the Gamergate controversy. In 2017, she subsequently became a conservative.

After that, she started making politically themed videos and posted them on YouTube. She also launched a website, and YouTube channel called Red Pill Black in September 2017 to promote black conservatism in U. S. However, she announced her exit from the organization in May 2019.

In May 2018, she tagged some known personalities like Chelsea Handler, Kathy Griffin, and Sarah Silverman on her Twitter post, where she mentioned that something bio-chemically happens to women who do not get married or have kids. Silverman responded to her post by saying that she would find happiness in her life, and in response, Owens accused Silverman of supporting crime gangs and terrorists.
